Michael McOsker was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and lived his whole life in the Boston area until moving to Las Vegas in 2002. His grandfather, two uncles and his father were all attorneys and active politically. His father was killed in a car accident when Mike was seven, which made him even more determined to become an attorney.
Mike grew up in a suburb near the heart of downtown Boston, and graduated from public high school. Since money was an issue, he chose Boston College because commuting to school made it the logical choice. He graduated magna cum laude with a double major in Political Science and Economics.
In order to pay for law school, he got help from family, took loans and worked 30 hours a week while going to Suffolk University Law School in downtown Boston. He graduated in 1982 and was licensed to practice in Massachusetts that same year. While in his final year of law school, Mike participated in the Prosecutors program, which allowed third year students to intern one day a week as an assistant D.A. It was this program that really brought into focus that Mike wanted to be in the courtroom. At the end of the year, he actually tried a DUI case in front of a jury.
For 19 years, he practiced in the Boston area with a couple of firms which concentrated in insurance defense work, but he also gained experience in representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases. In 1996, he formed his own firm concentrating in personal injury, on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants.
Prior to joining Craig P. Kenny & Associates, Mike worked as in-house counsel for Farmers Insurance for seven years. In his 27 years as a lawyer, Mike has tried over 60 civil jury trials; over 50 bench trials; over 100 arbitrations; and handled over 2500 civil personal injury cases.
Mike is an avid Boston sports fan and enjoys golf, music and bowling.
